In 2007 Murdoch House was bought by a local charitable trust who then asked "Redruth 2000", another local charity,  to manage it on their behalf.  Redruth 2000 had been set up in 1991 and registered with the Charity Commission on 9th of September 1992 with the stated objects being:-

TO PROMOTE HIGH STANDARDS OF PLANNING AND ARCHITECTURE IN OR AFFECTING THE AREA OF BENEFIT (REDRUTH) TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC IN THE GEOGRAPHY HISTORY NATURAL HISTORY AND ARCHITECTURE OF THE AREA OF BENEFIT. TO SECURE THE PRESERVATION PROTECTION DEVELOPMENT AND IMPROVEMENT OF FEATURES OF HISTORICAL PUBLIC INTEREST IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT.

  A sub-committee has been set up to manage Murdoch House and it will remain as an amenity for the people of Redruth, and will continue to further educational and social activities.
